ABSTRACT
The major thrust of this study is to examine the impact of leadership in the performance of an organization. The success or failure of an organization (whether formal or informal, public or private) could be attributed to the leadership style adopted by the leader. A leader is saddled with the responsibility of setting the pace, giving direction, and piloting the affairs of any organization. In this research, the National Petroleum Corporation is to be used as case study. The impact (positively or negatively) of the leadership of the Corporation on its existence, survival and achievement are to be analysed and discussed. Relevant data will be collected for this research work from both the primary source and secondary source. The statistical instrument to be used in analyzing and testing the validity of the hypothesis will be tabled and chi-squared.
